Alex Honnold the daredevil climber who doesn’t use ropes or harnesses

March 22, 2013

Alex Honnold is a rare daredevil who free solo climbs mountains all around the world. Free solo climbing is a form of climbing where the climber doesn’t use ropes or harnesses and relies solely on his or her physical strength, climbing ability and psychological fortitude. Alex has been climbing since the age of 11 and dropped out of UC Berkeley at 19 to pursue climbing full time. In the photo above Alex is free soloing the Nose on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, California.
